Workshop Outline

1. Intro on Dutch high-tech Horticulture:

We kick off with a bold question: “Can we feed 10 billion people sustainably?” We highlight the urgent global challenges—urbanization, climate pressure, food scarcity—and set the stage for the role of innovation.

2. Solutions in Action
We dive into how Dutch high-tech horticulture leads the way:

• Smart greenhouses & Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA)
• Efficient use of water, energy, and space
• LED lighting, crop genetics, and AI. The World Horti Center is introduced as a hub of innovation and collaboration, where tech meets food and sustainability.

3. Tech Meets Talent
This is where students see their own potential: robotics, data science, automation, system engineering—all essential to making sustainable food systems work.
